35,000 feet - A super sized experience

Well the new Airbus A380 is certainly impressive. It's very quiet from inside and seems to fly smoother than other planes. But how does the airline food on Singapore Airlines match up. Well to start with it's certainly not super size; but I guess it's good to be left wanting for more. It was also a surprise to have proper cutlery....when did that come back in?
Lunch was Chinese BBQ chicken with rice with some miniature vegetables as a main. A small ham and coleslaw salad on the side. The chicken itself was passable. Quite fatty but the accompanying spicy sauce added the required punch. The rice though was poor. Far too sticky and a low sauce/rice absorption ratio which we all know is critical to a good bowl of rice. Maybe rice is just too difficult for airplanes?
Overall a fair effort Singapore Airlines even though but the food didn't really live up to the great experience of the A380 package. They even managed to sit me next to an entertaining Irishman off to Manila to marry his Filipino bride. Entertaining as it all seemed a bit too 'Little Britain' for me.

Pinch the cutlery? Now maybe the riff raff at BA might consider such a thing....but this is Singapore Airlines for goodness sake...!!
