Singapore - What's with the cucumber...?

Even though it's been less than 36 hours a pattern has been determined. This involves lunchtime approaching and the hunt for the sanctuary of a shopping mall with ice cold air conditioning. Maybe it's jet lag but all these shopping malls look identical? At least they all seem to have a food court serving cuisine from all parts of the world. So lunch today was char siu rice.
Today's lucky food court was in Raffles City and was a used to soak up the lunchtime Singapore Sling just drunk from the hotel next door. On the plus side there was a vast improvement in the rice/sauce absorption ratio (from now on known as the RSAR....and not to be confused with that fine country of the Republic of South Africa). Not too much sauce...not too little sauce. Ideal. The pork though was indifferent with some from pretty fatty elements.

Again, there was cucumber on the side. Is Singapore the world's largest producer of this tasteless vegetable? Let's hope the cucumber market doesn't go the way of the rice market!! I must now think of a scientific methodology to rate this anonymous vegetable if it's going to appear on every dish I buy.

Britango, don't tell me that you've been eating the cucumber! You are supposed to put it on your forehead to help cool you down in the stifling heat which you have been complaining of.

Mad Frankie. I did take your advise and it certainly cooled things down. This organic treatment also had the added effect of softening my skin, easing my wrinkles and removing the bags from under my eyes.

Based on your excellent 'beauty tip' advice I must conclude that Mad Frankie is, infact, Mad Francesca?
