Starbucks have come, seen, and conquered Singapore.....although I will continue to seek a worthy competitor somewhere in South East Asia. Now you probably know that it can get a touch hot in Singapore. I'm not sure how many hot coffees they sell but after just a couple of minutes of walking along Orchard Road I was feeling a touch warm and succumbed to the cooling properties of an iced latte. Thank goodness they seem to be on every street corner.

Mr Britango, I read with interest your comments about the low sauce/rice absorption ratio! Has this scientific approach to food been prompted by your recent visit to the Fat Duck?
I understand that there are large numbers of South Africans in the bars of Singapore. Have you had chance to try the local Billtong?
Look forward to your next posting.

Mr Mad Frankie. I'm sorry to say I've been tardy at responding to your comment.
Now I'm back in the coolness of a London summer I'm afraid to tell that I was unable to sample Billtong....but a trip to South Arrica later this year will provide ample opportunity following which I'll be sure to update you in great detail.
